Metal's Blacksmith Workshops

We are pleased to present monthly blacksmithing workshops designed for anyone that wants to get their feet wet in this centuries old craft. Workshops take place at the workshop at 2261 Shafter Avenue in San Francisco. This is the same facility where we produce the world class ironwork found on this website.

The class is open to anyone age 13 and over and is an excellent way to see what goes into the making of forged steel items. It is a great experience for teenagers and a great team building event for small businesses or corporate teams. It can be considered a one time experience or an introduction to a long term study of the craft.

Students will learn blacksmithing basics in this introductory class. Topics covered:

  • Safety
  • Types of metal
  • Metal heating and Handling
  • Hot Bending & Forming
  • Hammering & Twisting

Everyone will make a fire poker to take home. You must bring safety glasses & gloves. Each class is limited to 8 Students.

Cost is $150. To Register, download this registration form and return with payment. (This file is an Adobe Acrobat file. If you're not able to open the file, download the free Adobe Acrobat Reader software, here.)
